Online shopping through your smart phone

The last couple of years we have seen a big change in consumers shopping habits. Not that long ago only the bravest would dare to put their card information into the world wide web, and now you’re one of the outkast if you dont do it. However, statistcs show that some people still hasitates to use their smart phone, when shopping online, compared to other electronic devices.

When it comes to online shopping, which device you choose to use has nothing to do with how safe it is or not. Internet is still the same on your smart phone and on your computer. Nonehteless, there are some precautions to take when shopping online.

First of all, if the offer seems to good to be true, it most likely is. It is necessary to be a bit sceptical to the webpage. Also, the bigger and more famous the webpage is, the more secure it is.

Another thing that can help you determine wether it’s a secure webpage or not is to look for a small padlock in the address bar, or to pay attention to how the URL begins. If it starts with http://, you should avoid the site because the correct way is https:// where the “S” stands for secure.

So in conclusion, you can definitley use your smart phone for online shopping, just remember to check for the security signs.

Correct mind-set = great productivity

Many of us have to-do lists that we try to work our way through in the most effective and efficient way possible. However, at the end of the day you might stand there feeling like you didn’t acheive nothing at all. Or at least not all you had planned to do. The solution? A change in your mind-set that can help you be more productive.

What is productivity?

Many of us can confuse being busy with being productive. You feel like you’re working all the time, but without actually getting anything done.  Being productive is when you do what you said you would do, within the timeframe you said you would do it.  So eventhough you’re constantly running or doing something, doesnt this necessarily mean that you are productive.

Steps towards a correct mind-set

Your mind-set is the foundation for every success and achievement in your life. With this said, its easy to get an understanding of how important it is to be in a correct state of mind. It exist some simple tips on how to improve your productivity through a correct mind-set. Let’s have a look:

First of all, having a positive attitude. By keeping your brain from associating your tasks with negativity, you automatically complete them in a greater manner. And feel even happier when they are done. Second, stay focused. Don’t start one thing here and one thing there. Focus on what you are doing until it is completed, so that when you are done,  you can erase it from your mind, and then attack the next task.

Third, routines. Create a plan and stick to it, and continue with this. Make a schedule that works good for you and follow through every day. Routines are great for getting into a mental state that is highly productive. For many it also helps to physically write down your routines, to create more structure in your brain. This makes it easy to cross out what you have done, and really be done with it.

Last, but not least

Take care of yourself! Sure, a good night sleep and breakfast are important, but what about during the day? Take time to breath and consider what you need. You wont be less productive if you stop for five minutes, on the contraty, you might be more productive when you start again. Ask yourself what you need, and do what you mind and body tells you to do, even if it is just for a few minutes.

Smartphone detox

It´s becoming clear that smartphones are slowly taking over our lives. Wherever you go, you are guaranteed to see at least one person with their face on their phone. That´s why, over the last years, there is becoming a trend to have a smartphone detox. What is that, you ask? We´ll fill you in!

Detox once a day

When you constantly have your face glued to that small screen on your smart phone, you miss out on so many things happening around you. It´s like we don’t even participate in our own lives anymore, if its not through social media. Or even worse, we intend to live our lives in a certain way so that we can create content for social media.  Because of this, and many other reasons everyone should have a smartphone detox at least once a week. Preferably once a day.

Choose what works best for you

The irony to this detox is that your smartphone is the best tool to help you through it. There exists a great selection of apps to help you disconnect from your phone, over different time periods. Some of them helps you by keeping track of how many hours you spend on specific apps during one day. This is helpful because seeing the real numbers of how much time you´re in fact wasting on social media can be a motivator for a detox.

Other apps lock your phone for a pre-set amount of time so you wont be able to access apps, however, you can still make phone calls and send messages, just like the phone originally was created to do. You can also find apps that appeals to the competitor in you, where you gain points when staying away from your phone.  They offer you the opportunity to connect with friends and/or other smartphone users, to compare results and see who manages to get the highest scores.

You can do it!

You can also choose detox the old fashioned way. Basically just dont use your phone. Leave it in the hallway when you come home and let it be there for a certain amount of time. However, you choose to do it, we recommend a little detox once in a while, to catch up on life around you, away from the screens.

Tips to protect your phone in the summer heat

Summer is definitely here, and with it came the heat. Most people are aware that your phone shouldn’t get too hot, however, there are other actions to take in order to protect your phone even better. We will now give you our best tips on how to protect your phone.

Keep it dry

First of all, keep it dry. Many new smartphones are allegedly waterproof, however, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they actually are 100% waterproof and not affected by water. We understand the need to check your phone after a swim, just be sure to dry your hands first.

Keep it cool

Speaking of taking a swim. We do this to cool ourselves down, and our phones also needs to get cooled down. To much heat will cause your phone to shut down and, in the worst case scenario, it can cause your battery to swell. Which is not good for the future life of your device. So the takeout from this; keep your phone in the shade at all times. Don’t leave it where it can be exposed to overheating, e.g. in the car.

Sometimes it can also be smart to carry your phone in your hands or bag, instead of keeping it in your pocket, as the clothing fabric combined with your body heat will cause the phone to heat up more than necessary.

Don´t stack your devices

Keep your electronic devices away from each other. Don’t lay your smartphone on top of your tablet in the shade. This will only combine the heat damages that can be created.

Always protect your phone

Invest in a good screen protector and phone case in order to keep your phone in as good shape as possible. When buying a phone case it is important to keep in mind that the case should cover as much of your phones surface as possible, so that for instance sand cant enter the tiny wholes on the bottom of your phone.
